€9,60
Digestive Infections Professional use

For professional use. This test is intended to be performed by, or under the supervision of, a healthcare professional. It is supplied in a single Testera pack.

A rapid test that detects rotavirus and adenovirus from a single stool sample – two of the most common causes of viral diarrhoea in children. Result in 10 minutes.

Why test?

Rotavirus and enteric adenoviruses are among the most common causes of acute diarrhoea (gastroenteritis) in young children. They spread easily via hands, objects and food, especially in nurseries and kindergartens. Illness usually starts with vomiting, watery diarrhoea, fever and stomach pain. The biggest danger is dehydration, so give fluids often. If the child passes little urine, is drowsy, vomits constantly or has blood in the stool, get medical help straight away. The test helps find out whether one of these viruses is causing the diarrhoea.

Collect 1–2 g of stool in a clean, dry container; best results within 6 hours of collection. Solid sample: unscrew the tube cap and insert the applicator into the stool at 3 or more places to collect about 50 mg (a quarter of a pea). Liquid sample: draw it up with the dropper and add 2 drops (about 50 µL) to the tube. Replace the applicator and cap, shake for 10–15 seconds and leave for 2 minutes. Remove the plastic barrier strip, place the tube on a clean flat surface, press the tube body from top to bottom and start the timer. Read the result after 10 minutes. Do not read after 20 minutes. Results: NEGATIVE: a single line in the control region (C). Rotavirus positive: lines at C and T1. Adenovirus positive: lines at C and T2. Both positive: lines at C, T1 and T2. INVALID: no control line — repeat with a new test.
This test does not replace a doctor's consultation. If you have symptoms, a positive or unclear result, or any doubt, speak to a healthcare professional.
About this test

Questions about this test

Read the instruction leaflet in the pack before you start. Collect your sample as described, apply it to the test, and read the result within the time stated in the leaflet. Do not read the result after that time.

The accuracy shown on this page comes from the manufacturer's validation data. No self-test is 100% accurate, so a result is an indication, not a diagnosis.

The test is invalid. Do not interpret the result. Repeat the test with a new one and follow the leaflet carefully.

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist. A self-test does not replace a medical consultation, and a negative result does not always rule out a condition, especially if you have symptoms.

Store it as described in the leaflet and keep it sealed until use. Do not use a test after the expiry date printed on the pack.
