Vitamin D Rapid Test (blood)

€7,99
Vitamin d Vitamins

A finger-prick rapid test that measures your blood vitamin D (25(OH)D) level and places it in one of four categories: deficiency, insufficiency, sufficiency or excess. Result in 10 minutes.

Why test?

Vitamin D helps the body absorb calcium and phosphorus, so it matters for bones, muscles and teeth. In Northern and Central Europe there is too little sunlight from autumn to spring, so deficiency is common. It can go unnoticed for a long time and later show up as fatigue, bone or muscle pain and weakness. Higher-risk groups include older people, people who spend little time outdoors, people with darker skin, people with overweight, pregnant women and people with bowel conditions. The test helps you check your vitamin D status and, if needed, discuss supplement dosage with a doctor or pharmacist. Excess is usually linked to taking too much supplement.

Common questions

What are the symptoms of vitamin D deficiency?
Fatigue, muscle weakness or pain, frequent colds and low mood, especially in autumn and winter. The symptoms are non-specific, so a test is the most reliable way to find out.

How is the test done at home?
You prick your fingertip with the lancet, collect a drop of blood with the capillary dropper, add it to the test with two drops of buffer and compare the line with the colour card after 10 minutes.

What should I do if the test shows a deficiency?
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the right vitamin D dose. Do not take high doses without advice.

Rapid tests are for preliminary screening and do not replace a doctor’s consultation.

Free delivery on orders over €30 (€50 to Latvia and Estonia) (below that: €3.99 in Lithuania, €7.99 to Latvia and Estonia). How to do the test1. Wash your hands with soap and warm water.2. Open the foil pouch, place the cassette on a clean flat surface and lay out the dropper, buffer, lancet and alcohol swab. Use the test within one hour, ideally right away.3. Twist off and discard the lancet cap.4. Clean the tip of your middle or ring finger with the alcohol swab and let it dry.5. Press the lancet firmly against the side of the fingertip. The needle retracts automatically.6. Keep your arm lowered and massage towards the fingertip until a drop of blood forms. Wipe away the first drop.7. Without squeezing the bulb, touch the dropper to the blood drop. It fills by itself up to the marked line. Avoid air bubbles.8. Squeeze the bulb to add the blood to the sample well (S).9. When the blood has soaked in, add 2 drops of buffer to the buffer well (B) and start a timer.10. Read the result after 10 minutes by comparing the T line with the Vitamin D colour card. Do not read after 20 minutes.Reading the result (25(OH)D)Deficiency (0–10 ng/mL / 0–25 nmol/L): C line plus a strong T line matching “deficiency” on the colour card.Insufficiency (10–30 ng/mL / 25–75 nmol/L): C line plus a T line matching “insufficiency”.Sufficiency (30–100 ng/mL / 75–250 nmol/L): C line plus a faint T line matching “sufficiency”.Excess (above 100 ng/mL): only the C line appears. Consult a doctor.Invalid: no C line. Repeat with a new test, following the steps carefully.
This test does not replace a doctor's consultation. If you have symptoms, a positive or unclear result, or any doubt, speak to a healthcare professional.
About this test

Questions about this test

Read the instruction leaflet in the pack before you start. Collect your sample as described, apply it to the test, and read the result within the time stated in the leaflet. Do not read the result after that time.

The accuracy shown on this page comes from the manufacturer's validation data. No self-test is 100% accurate, so a result is an indication, not a diagnosis.

The test is invalid. Do not interpret the result. Repeat the test with a new one and follow the leaflet carefully.

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist. A self-test does not replace a medical consultation, and a negative result does not always rule out a condition, especially if you have symptoms.

Store it as described in the leaflet and keep it sealed until use. Do not use a test after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Delivery is free on orders over €30 (€50 to Latvia and Estonia). Orders are dispatched from Vilnius within 24 hours on business days. Delivery is usually 1-3 business days in Lithuania and 2-5 business days in Latvia and Estonia. Shipping policy
