A rapid test that detects IgG and IgM antibodies to Borrelia – the bacteria that cause Lyme disease – in whole blood, serum or plasma. Result in 10 minutes.
Why test?
Lyme disease (Lyme borreliosis) is caused by Borrelia bacteria transmitted by ticks and is one of the most common tick-borne diseases in Europe. The typical early sign is a spreading, ring-shaped red rash (erythema migrans) at the bite site a few days or weeks later, sometimes with fever, tiredness, headache and muscle or joint pain. Untreated, it can affect the joints, nervous system or heart. The risk is highest for people who spend a lot of time in forests, meadows and gardens. Antibodies take time to form, so the result can be negative early on.

Common questions
When should the test be done after a tick bite?
About 4–6 weeks after the bite, when antibodies have formed. Tested too early, the result may be negative even with an infection.
What should I do after a tick bite?
Remove the tick as soon as possible with tweezers, disinfect the wound and watch the bite site for a few weeks. If a spreading red patch, fever or joint pain appears, see a doctor.
Does a positive result mean Lyme disease?
It means antibodies to Borrelia were detected. A doctor makes the diagnosis based on symptoms and, if needed, laboratory tests.
For professional use. Rapid tests are for preliminary screening; the diagnosis is made by a doctor.

Questions about this test
Read the instruction leaflet in the pack before you start. Collect your sample as described, apply it to the test, and read the result within the time stated in the leaflet. Do not read the result after that time.
The accuracy shown on this page comes from the manufacturer's validation data. No self-test is 100% accurate, so a result is an indication, not a diagnosis.
The test is invalid. Do not interpret the result. Repeat the test with a new one and follow the leaflet carefully.
Speak to a doctor or pharmacist. A self-test does not replace a medical consultation, and a negative result does not always rule out a condition, especially if you have symptoms.
Store it as described in the leaflet and keep it sealed until use. Do not use a test after the expiry date printed on the pack.
