FOB Rapid Test for Occult Blood (stool)

€6,49
Digestive Fob

A rapid test that detects hidden (occult) blood in stool – small amounts you cannot see with the naked eye that may signal bleeding in the digestive tract. Suitable for bowel cancer screening; a positive result must be checked by a doctor.

Why test?

Small amounts of bleeding in the gut are often invisible but can be caused by polyps, haemorrhoids, ulcers, inflammatory bowel disease or colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer often has no symptoms early on, which is why stool blood tests are used for screening, and many European countries offer free programmes for older adults. Consider testing based on age, family history, changes in bowel habits or unexplained anaemia. A positive result is not a diagnosis – see a doctor for further tests.

Common questions

What does occult blood in stool mean?
Blood that cannot be seen with the naked eye. It can come from haemorrhoids, polyps, inflammation or other bowel conditions, so a positive result should always be assessed by a doctor.

Who is the FOB test for?
Anyone who wants to check their bowel health, especially people over 50 or with a family history of bowel disease.

Does a negative result mean everything is fine?
It means no blood was found in this sample. If you have abdominal pain, changes in bowel habits or visible blood, see a doctor regardless of the result.

Rapid tests are for preliminary screening and do not replace a doctor’s consultation.

How to do the test1. Let the sample and buffer reach room temperature (15–30 °C).2. Collect the stool with the stool catcher so it does not touch toilet water or cleaning products.3. Unscrew the cap of the collection tube and push the applicator into the stool in at least 3 different places. Do not scoop the sample.4. Screw the cap back on tightly and shake well to mix the sample with the buffer.5. Open the foil pouch and place the cassette on a flat surface. Use it straight away.6. Hold the tube upright, open the tip, turn it upside down and add 2 full drops (about 80 µL) to the sample well (S). Avoid air bubbles. Start a timer.7. Read the result after 5 minutes. Do not read after 10 minutes.Reading the resultPositive: two lines (C and T). Any T line, even faint, counts. Blood detected – see a doctor.Negative: only the C line. No blood detected.Invalid: no C line. Usually too little sample or a missed step. Repeat with a new test.
This test does not replace a doctor's consultation. If you have symptoms, a positive or unclear result, or any doubt, speak to a healthcare professional.
About this test

Questions about this test

Read the instruction leaflet in the pack before you start. Collect your sample as described, apply it to the test, and read the result within the time stated in the leaflet. Do not read the result after that time.

The accuracy shown on this page comes from the manufacturer's validation data. No self-test is 100% accurate, so a result is an indication, not a diagnosis.

The test is invalid. Do not interpret the result. Repeat the test with a new one and follow the leaflet carefully.

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist. A self-test does not replace a medical consultation, and a negative result does not always rule out a condition, especially if you have symptoms.

Store it as described in the leaflet and keep it sealed until use. Do not use a test after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Delivery is free on orders over €30 (€50 to Latvia and Estonia). Orders are dispatched from Vilnius within 24 hours on business days. Delivery is usually 1-3 business days in Lithuania and 2-5 business days in Latvia and Estonia. Shipping policy
