For professional use. This test is intended to be performed by, or under the supervision of, a healthcare professional. It is supplied in a single Testera pack.

A rapid test that detects Group A Streptococcus (Strep A) antigen from a throat swab. It helps tell a bacterial throat infection from a viral one. Result in 5 minutes.

Why test?

Group A Streptococcus is a common cause of bacterial throat infection (tonsillitis, pharyngitis) and scarlet fever, especially in children aged 5–15. Typical signs are a sudden, severe sore throat, painful swallowing, fever, swollen tonsils with white patches, swollen neck glands and sometimes a fine, rough rash. A cough and runny nose point more to a viral infection. The test helps identify a bacterial infection that may need antibiotics; treatment is prescribed by a doctor.

Common questions

How is strep throat different from a viral sore throat?
Strep usually starts suddenly with a high fever and severe sore throat without a cough or runny nose. Viral infections more often come with cough and runny nose.

Does a positive result mean antibiotics are needed?
A positive result shows Strep A was detected. A doctor decides on treatment.

What if the result is negative but symptoms are strong?
A negative result does not fully rule out infection. If symptoms do not match, a throat culture is recommended.

For professional use. Rapid tests are for preliminary screening; the diagnosis is made by a doctor.

About this test

Questions about this test

Read the instruction leaflet in the pack before you start. Collect your sample as described, apply it to the test, and read the result within the time stated in the leaflet. Do not read the result after that time.

The accuracy shown on this page comes from the manufacturer's validation data. No self-test is 100% accurate, so a result is an indication, not a diagnosis.

The test is invalid. Do not interpret the result. Repeat the test with a new one and follow the leaflet carefully.

Speak to a doctor or pharmacist. A self-test does not replace a medical consultation, and a negative result does not always rule out a condition, especially if you have symptoms.

Store it as described in the leaflet and keep it sealed until use. Do not use a test after the expiry date printed on the pack.

Delivery is free on orders over €30 (€50 to Latvia and Estonia). Orders are dispatched from Vilnius within 24 hours on business days. Delivery is usually 1-3 business days in Lithuania and 2-5 business days in Latvia and Estonia. Shipping policy
